Legal costs upon property purchase in Bulgaria

Additional expenses and legal costs when buying a property in Bulgaria:

  • Notary fees and stamp duties - due on the day of signing the final purchase-sale contract at Notary`s public. The exact amount is calculated by a government notary individually for each real estate. The total amount is approximately 4,5% of the property`s price.
  • A licensed interpreter's fee – the presence of a licensed interpreter is obligatory at the official Deal at Notary`s public - 60 BGN (30 EUR) per hour plus transport from Varna.
  • The annual property tax is about 0.6% of the price, stated in your Title Deed. The tax amount is being calculated individually for each real estate by a local municipality.
  • Our commission is 3% of the property`s price (VAT excluded), but not less than 1200 EUR. Half of the amount is due at signing the preliminary contract, half at transferring the property ownership at Notary`s office.
